Privacy Policy

What this Site collects

The Site is an informational page. It has no sign-up forms, comment boxes, accounts or shopping cart, and it does not ask you for your name, email address, payment details or any other personal information.

Like almost every website, our web host automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the time of your visit. We use this only to keep the Site running and secure.

Cookies

The Site does not set tracking or advertising cookies and does not use analytics services. Our web host may set strictly necessary cookies needed to deliver the pages.

Third-party services

The Site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google, which receives your IP address as part of that request. Google's handling of that data is described in Google's Privacy Policy. The videos on the Site are hosted on our own server, not on a third-party video platform.

Information handled by the SnailRepo app

The SnailRepo desktop app processes your mail on your own computer. It does not create accounts, does not send telemetry, and does not use cloud services to read or sort your mail. Your records and images are stored encrypted on your PC. If you choose the Google Drive storage option, the encrypted archive is uploaded to a Google Drive account you own, under Google's terms and privacy policy; SnailRepo does not receive a copy. A hosted Secure Cloud option is planned for release in December 2026 and will be covered by its own terms before it is offered. Optional problem reports contain technical information only, never the contents of your mail. No customer data will be shared without prior notification.

How we use and share information

We use the technical information described above to operate, protect and improve the Site. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or to service providers (such as our web host) who process it on our behalf.

Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), may give you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of it. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise your rights, contact us at support@snailrepo.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.

Terms and Conditions

Acceptance

By accessing or using the Site you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Use of the Site

You may view and browse the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to gain unauthorized access to it or its servers, interfering with its operation, scraping or copying its content in bulk, or using it for any unlawful purpose.

Informational content

The Site describes the Snail Repo service in general terms. It is not an offer to provide services, and nothing on it forms a contract. Any service we provide is governed by a separate customer agreement, and features, availability and pricing may change without notice.

Intellectual property

The Site and everything on it, including text, graphics, the Snail Repo name and logo, the video, and the underlying code, belong to SnailRepo or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from them without our written consent.

Third-party links

The Site may link to websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link does not mean we endorse them.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SnailRepo and its owners, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Site or its content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold SnailRepo harmless from any claims, losses or expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
